Where things stand today

Yard & Board does not run any affiliate links. Every recommendation on this site, and every result our calculators produce, is free of any financial relationship with a retailer, manufacturer, or contractor network.

If that changes

We may add affiliate links in the future. If we do, some links on this site could earn us a commission when you click through and make a purchase. That commission comes from the retailer's marketing budget. Using our link costs you the same as buying directly from the retailer.

What affiliate links will never do

A commission will never change what a calculator tells you. Our mulch, topsoil, board feet, deck board, fence, and deck stain calculators run on the constants published on our methodology page. We choose which products and suppliers to recommend based on how well they fit the project.

How future disclosures will look

If a page carries an affiliate link, we will say so on that page, next to the link, in plain language such as "this is an affiliate link" or "we may earn a commission from this link."
